Adidas ozweego
For sneakers to capture our interest, they had to be comfy, and the Adidas Ozweego did just that. It features a very large upper and soft padding. Because of how roomy it felt, we even believed that wide-footed people might wear this shoe with ease. This shoe also performed incredibly well in terms of appearance, so we couldn’t ask for more. Indeed, the greatest shoe to date!
The forefoot in particular has a little thicker midsole than usual. The average thickness was only 20.0 mm, but our caliper indicated that the forefoot was 24.7 mm thick. This portion was softer in addition to being thicker. In addition to being soft and comfortable, the shoe also had a lot of space inside out, giving our feet plenty of breathers. According to our caliper, the widest part of the footbed was 105.0 mm (ave 99.1 mm) wide, and it opened as much as 79.0 mm (ave 75.2 mm) at the big toe. This midsole gave it a score of 26.8, which is significantly softer than the 30.9 average.
If the Adidas Ozweego hadn’t looked as good as it did, everything we’ve spoken about thus far would have been for nothing. Everywhere we went, we received compliments since we enjoyed it so much. The fact that this sneaker came in so many different colorways only made us appreciate it more.
Although the materials had a nice appearance, they didn’t feel very high-end. We might even argue that the shoe felt flimsy in some places, particularly those where mesh was utilized.
Pros
- Long-lasting outsole
- Surprisingly lightweight
- Great for all-day wear
- Lots of colorways
- Budget-friendly
- Compliment magnet
- Unbelievably comfortable
Cons
- Not the most breathable
- Lack of quality materials
Best chunky sneakers

New Balance 9060
The New Balance 9060’s cushioning system was undoubtedly made with high-quality materials. This shoe was by far the greatest hefty option out of all the sneakers we tried because it was one of the thickest that we had ever attempted. Even though the midsole was incredibly soft, we also enjoyed that it was resistant to twisting.
Our digital caliper indicated that the NB 9060’s cushioning system was 26.0 mm thick at the forefoot and 37.3 mm thick at the heel. Because of these figures, the midsole was much thicker than usual, measuring only 31.3 mm and 20.0 mm, respectively.
To evaluate the New Balance 9060’s torsional rigidity, we manually bent and twisted it in the lab. It was quite resistant, we discovered. It was really justified to give it a rating of four out of five.
The base did not seem particularly hard underfoot only because it was resistant to twisting. On the contrary, this shoe has one of the softest and most pleasant feelings ever. It had a rating of 19.4 on our HA durometer, a significant drop from the average of 30.9.
It was unfortunate that there weren’t more color options for this shoe. It would have been fun to try out various ensembles while sporting various NB 9060 colors.
Pros
- Looks better in person
- Dope aesthetics
- Quite heavy-duty
- Excellent craftsmanship
- Next-level comfort
Cons
- Limited color options
- A tad warm
- Squeaks
Best sneakers for summer

Nike zoom vomero 5
With its timeless design and all-day comfort, the Nike Zoom Vomero 5 was easy to test. It is delightfully easy to walk on, extremely lightweight, and incredibly breathable. This sneaker is the best for summer since, as demonstrated in the lab, it will prevent overheating even on the hottest days.
We drove around town in the Vomero 5, eager to test the hype. We love that its thin mesh upper allows for full-length airflow, which means there won’t be any perspiration or blisters. It received a flawless breathability score in our smoke test, demonstrating its permeability as it exited with ease.
Because it flows fluidly with our steps, we found the pair to be really adaptable. It is as flexible as the typical sneaker, according to our bend test. Its airy structure contributes to its weightlessness. It weighs 11.2 oz (316g), which is 20.8% less than normal.
Underfoot, the Vomero 5 feels more cushioned despite having an average stack height. When we opened the shoe, we found two Zoom Air units that gave the ride a perceived boost of softness and bounce. The comfortable foam is 9.1% softer than usual, with a durometer reading of 28.0 HA.
The smooth airflow is a feature, but the longevity of the upper is diminished. On our Dremel test, the toebox received the lowest score of 1/5. Handle this portion of the shoe with caution.
Pros
- Lighter than average
- Cushioned like a running shoe
- Excellent breathability for summer
- Nostalgic 2000s aesthetic
Cons
- Mesh is easy to tear
- Pricey
- Not for flat feet/overpronation
